We spent two and a half years renovating our first home, a 1920s Craftsman in Northeast Portland. The house had beautiful bones but had suffered decades of neglect and numerous cheaply executed updates. We could have just repaired the damage and freshened the surfaces, but that's not our style. We stripped the house to the studs, replaced the plumbing and electric, opened up the floor plan, fenced and landscaped the yard, and created a dream kitchen and two dream bathrooms. You can see documentation of the project on our personal blog.
If you are considering a renovation or restoration, we can provide vision, planning, and project management. We work with a tight network of affordable, reputable contractors. We can advise you which projects are the best use of your sweat equity and which projects should be delegated to professionals. We know how to scour Craigslist and the local salvage warehouses for great deals on materials.
